Transit agencies offer (mostly) complementary transfer and passes that allow riders to continue on with their journeys quicker and easier. Some of these paper transfers also allow travelers to continue to out-of-region agencies for a transfer credit or a small fee.
Transfers and Day Passes
These instruments are used for traveling on a per ride basis, with day passes usually valid up to 3am the following day.

Day passes are available based on the number of zones traveled (adults from $7.50, discounted from $3.75). In addition, Caltrain offers a joint Day Pass with the VTA for an additional $6 for travel to and from Levis Stadium on game days and certain events, with the Caltrain section good between Zones 3 and 6. |

Fare credit from BART (with paper transfer): Adults/Youth: $1.00 Seniors: $0.50 Two transfers are permitted with a paper transfer; one free transfer recognized by Clipper card. A weekday paper transfer allows a commuter to travel with a 2-hour window, while a weekend paper transfer allows a commuter to travel with a 3-hour window. Clipper, on the other hand, recognizes a 2-hour window every day. Valid paper transfer honored as full-fare payment for onward travel to services by Tri-Delta Transit, WestCAT, and Wheels. |
